A dreamlike scene of two goldfinches in a patch of coneflowers. This s a very atmospheric, almost surrealistic painting of a macro view of the scene. A soft but vibrant palette draws the viewer into the painting. Goldfinches are such a colorful and cheerful part of spring and summer in the northeast USA. Goldfinches are commonly seen around coneflowers. The contrast of purple flower against the yellow bird is stunning.
I enjoy painting wildlife and nature and am particularly drawn to birds of any kind.
